Moon River

Our family has stayed at this house for the past 5 years. We love this home it has the perfect amount of space we love the pool,volley ball net,horse shoes, corn hole and shuffle board games. The river is only a 10 minute drive. The staff is great always keeping us updated. Robert was awesome making sure the pool was good. This home is always clean and comfortable. The only 2 things is the pots and pans need to be replaced and the sheets don't fit the bed they ended up in the center of the bed. Overall we love this home.

Had a great time has always. Already looking forward to next year.

Very nice for being there for the first time

Everything was perfect. Moon River is in a perfect location. The house is set up perfect for families with a separate bedroom for children and a pool, corn hole, and a volleyball net. Thank you for having us! We will definitely return :)

We had a very nice stay at Moon River. The online listing gave us a realistic description and views of the property. The house is open and feels spacious. Our one complaint concerned a problem with the hot water heater. The Frio staff were very responsive and sent a capable repair person who found a workaround to the problem (a heating element failure). Although there were lots of clouds on the day of the eclipse, the clouds parted many times to give us views of the sun, including a short look at the corona during totality.

Having 10 regular beds was perfect for our trip.

Moon River is a perfect home for our family. We have stayed here for 4 years now. We love the pool the great location to the river. There are so many games for us at the house. It would be nice to have some new cookware and another coffee pot.

The house was just amazing and all of the family totally enjoyed the stay. The only thing that was missing was a broom and dust pan to sweep before we left.

This house was very nice and accommodated 6 families which included little ones. Even though the river is around the corner the pool was the best part. Every one had a blast and the house had all essentials as described.

Consistently great! This property has everything you need, it’s our home away from home! Very close to House Pasture, you can enjoy country music concerts from your driveway! Always clean and comfortable, the private pool area is well maintained, and the property is reasonably priced. All of this keeps us coming back to moon river year after year!

Our first going to Concan TX, it was an awesome experience. The kids and adults had fun in the house pool; the Frio river close by...we also went to Garner State Park which was like 20-25 min away...it was fun..
The house was clean and spacious. Highly recommended!! The staff was awesome especially Lesly and Sarah!! Would definitely book again with Frio Premier Homes.!

Our family had a great stay at Moon River. The house was large enough to accommodate all 16 of us comfortably. A couple of items we expected to be there were not, but nothing major. The kitchen was large and accommodated the many cooks in our group. The weather didn’t cooperate but we all agreed we would like to return in warmer weather to fully enjoy the pool and other outdoor amenities. Everyone felt this property was a good selection for our family. The manager on duty was quick to respond to my messages. The biggest problem was not having cell service, but fortunately there were a few in our group who had AT&T network, which is the only one(as we were told) that worked in that area

Spent 2 nights at Moon River & enjoyed every minute of it! House was clean & well furnished. Lots of room for the 5 of us to spread out! Clean linens & lots of towels! Pool was clean & refreshing! Really enjoyed our stay!

I have always had a hard time understanding why this area charges so much for stays. They charge for cleaning fees, linen fees, item fee, service fee, walk in grass fee etc etc . We get it, it’s a business. But to run a business that finds every which way to make money off customers is ridiculous. I’ve stayed in more luxurious homes in Colorado, NM, Fl etc for way less. And what makes a weekend or holiday any more expensive? Ok demand for a stay might increase but like any other day, once it is booked it is booked. First come first serve. Yet another reason to hike up prices. Not like the house is decorated for Christmas or cleaned up extra. Which is another issue. Charging cleaning fees and still ask guests to sweep, throw trash, do dishes. Upon arriving it looks like that is all that is done by guests. There is no extra cleaning. I found trash under sofa, sticky counters, dirty eating and utensils. Pool filter dirty, in/out clogged, water mirky. Idk, if I am paying for these services, they need to be done correctly.

Very Clean, Linens Provided. Room enough for 18 people to eat together and play together without being directly on top of one another. Outside net and corn hole games great. Washer and Dryer, YES! Felt like home.

The house was very spacious and clean. We had a so much fun playing volleyball and enjoyed the pool. It was a little cold at night to enjoy the bonfire. The location is great and private.The river was just down the road. I would definitely rent here again.

It was a big place with lots of beds. The pool was perfect and loved the fire pit area. The fridge was missing some side door shelving & the fridge drawers damaged when we got there. Overall it was an awesome stay.

Moon River was large enough to accommodate our family of 14. The house had enough beds and rooms so that everyone could have their own spaces. Kitchen well equipped. The A/C worked awesome. Don’t forget to bring your own toilet paper and trash bags(ran out). We loved the swimming pool, the horseshoe pit, the volleyball set up, and the shuffleboard table. Activities for all ages. You do have to drive to different areas to float the River but forbid that was not a problem.

Spacious home with pool to relax in. Only suggestion would be to replace the refrigerator——vegetable crispers cracked broken and water leaked from top of frig to lower frig. Enjoyed the quietness and distance between homes. Quick check-in and out.

Good location near river, great place over all for a family vacation

This house was perfect for us, we all loved it. The kitchen had everything you need, 2 coffee pots, pitchers, cutting boards, wevjust needed ziplock bags for leftovers. The backyard was amazing with the pool, volleyball net, horse shoe pits. The bbq pit and all the seating outside was great. The house was very clean, we did have a toilet issue and the maintenance folks were there quick to fix it. We will definitely stay here again.

The Moon River at the Frio is a good house to stay at close to Garner State Park. Overall it’s a beautiful place with a wonderful ambience. Owners can easily make the stay more enjoyable by providing basic necessities traveling families which other places usually offer.

Pros:
- Clean
- Spacious
- Nice ambience
- Plenty of parking space
- Owner was professional and kind
- Nice fire pit
- Good AC/heating unit
- Good wifi
- Easy check in process
- Close fo Garner state park and Frio river crossing


Cons:
- Lacks basic kitchen supplies (Ex: salt, sugar, pepper)
- Lacks basic bathroom supplies (bathroom rugs/floor towel- almost slipped and fell, no soap/shampoo!!, no blow dryer, bring your own towels
- Bedroom door locks were not functional
- No bedsheets (owner informed us ahead of time)
- Pool is not heated and it was freezing (we visited in October)
- Has a washer dryer but no detergent
- Has a volleyball court but no volleyball

We had a great time, the house is wonderful and so convenient placing near the golf course and Horse Pasture. The house did lack a broom, where they expect you to still sweep before leaving , and also the scrubby was not in good shape and they didn’t provide even one dishwasher detergent, but they expect you to do all dishes before leaving .


Those are our only critiques of this house , we would just come better prepared with our own stuff next time.

From the start, Sarah was so kind, she was quick to answer my questions and helping us out. When we drove up to the property it was in a great neighborhood, very clean, very quite and absolutely beautiful. The house was big and had all of "at home" things we needed. I would recommend this property to everyone that wants a get away from the rustle and bustle of the busy lifestyles we live. It was amazing to sit there and watch the sun rise and set without a care in the world. Can't wait to stay there again!!
